noticing spring

Like most seasonal transitions, it begins slowly and quietly…tiny little shifts in the air, the plants, the sky, the soul.  It might seem odd, but spring has never really been my favorite season.  Maybe it’s because I’ve always lived in the south, but I usually prefer the shift from summer to fall.  The cool weather...

a nova vida

Hello friends! I’m finally back (again)! I really needed to take another breather after my big confession post, because I had lots of mixed emotions about continuing with a personal blog.  I really do love having this space- the memories recorded, projects shared, new friends and connections made- but I also felt the need to...

Thank you Katie :) Yes, the camera is finally fixed, yay!

the washington post

It’s a bit overdue, huh?   Since returning home, we celebrated a birthday (can my baby really be one already?!), prepared ourselves to begin this Lenten season and have also had a lovely slew of illnesses come our way.  We’ve been having an unseasonably warm February though, so it’s been nice to be able to head...

planning my comeback

Hi blog and all you friends out there!  I’ve been thinking about you a lot lately.  I’ve been missing this place, recording our days, projects, recipes and memories here and I miss the online connections that always seem to lift me up and encourage me on this journey through life and especially motherhood. I’ve spent...

Thank you friend! It feels good to just rip the bandaid off and to be back in my space writing again.

I hope you have a nice, relaxing visit in the Northwest! My prayers are still with you, friend. :)

Hey Brit, I’m truly am sorry for all the pain you are going through. I want to thank you for being so honest. It’s so hard… we all hide things and I think once it’s out in the “light” it’s a little bit easier. People can take part of the burden from you. Things that stay in the dark are harder. They’re hidden… it’s freeing in a way to release these things and let others help. It’s tough and it takes a lot of courage but you have shared it so beautifully and gracefully.

God has a plan even when we can’t see it. I know He’s going to do amazing things just by you sharing this and letting it out into the light. You are one beautiful lady and have three amazing kiddos.

Let me know if you ever need anything! I would love to see more of your wonderful photos!

I’m so sorry for all the pain you are going through. I am currently helping a very close friend through a similar situation. Stay strong and lean on your friends and family. I’m glad you decided to start blogging again…I miss your pictures and words. I check here often, but also get to see your adorable kiddos on IG.

big, hard changes

Hi friends. It’s been awhile.  I’m sorry for that. I’ve had to step away from this space for a bit because life these days have been full of some huge, unexpected changes. It’s crazy how quickly everything can change on you. We are all in good health and ok, but our family is still facing...

YAY! I’m so glad you’re back on here. You should have snapped a pic of those peppers today! I will do it tomorrow. They are so pretty. I almost don’t want to eat them. But we sure will. =)

It’s been a while since I’ve seen your photos on instagram so I decided to hop over hear to check on you. I will be praying for you!

I happened to see that you had updated somewhat recently on my favorite blogs blogroll – LOVE your pictures, as ever! Your kids are adorable. Those pomegranates are SO COOL! The idea of things like that actually growing on trees is so foreign to me – we don’t have the climate for it up here. ;) Keeping you in my prayers! <3
